As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, we all are working to adjust to a new normal. This pandemic has presented us with numerous challenges such as transitioning to remote working, finding ways to adapt our work to address COVID-19 related concerns, and taking on new roles as teachers and caregivers, all while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy and trying to look after our own mental health needs. In thinking about these new challenges, the RIPRC has developed a comprehensive guidance document and list of resources which we hope, to the extent possible, will help prevention providers to continue doing their incredible work while caring for their own well-being.

Governor Gina Raimondo’s Opioid Overdose Prevention and Intervention Task Force focuses on saving lives and changing the social conditions that cause substance use disorders and keep people with substance use disorders from getting effective support. In this video profile, Governor Raimondo, Senior Advisor Tom Coderre, and others discuss the four pillars of the Opioid Overdose Task Force Strategic Plan and highlight some of the work that is being done in Rhode Island to prevent opioid use and opioid related deaths.
