Addictions in the LGBTQ Population

This training will explore and discuss issues and dynamics that are important in affirming the recovery of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersexed persons. We will identify the competencies involved in delivering these services, discuss terminology, examine the “coming out” process, and identify knowledge and skills that are necessary for addictions treatment and recovery practitioners to know in order to nurture recovery in LGBT persons.
