Basic Skills for Working with Smokers Training

This training addresses the need for providers in allied healthcare services, mental health and behavioral health to be fully informed and trained in the provision of tobacco cessation services to maximize the health and well-being of their patients. This comprehensive curriculum has been developed through the University of Massachusetts, School of Medicine, Center for Tobacco Treatment Research and Training. This skill set will empower addiction and allied healthcare professionals to integrate evidence-based best practice interventions for tobacco use and cessation into existing prevention and treatment programs. This 12-hour curriculum contains 10 modules that cover the many aspects of tobacco-free chemical dependence services.
