Engaging Youth in Public Health and Advocacy: You Can Do It!

In this free training, participants will have the opportunity to learn about the youth engagement and youth development as it relates to coalition building and advocacy. We will explore strategies for recruitment, engagement, and sustainability, particularly focusing on advocacy and policy change issues. The workshop will be interactive and engaging, and address specific challenges of the participants.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to

  1. Understand the youth development approach and why youth engagement improves program outcomes
  2. Identify tips for building relationships for working with youth and supporting youth
  3. Explore strategies to increase youth-adult collaboration, particularly in the advocacy and policy change arena
  4. Identify barriers and solutions for next steps
