Drug and heroin abuse has become an epidemic across the country and in RI with numerous adverse consequences such as needless overdose deaths, broken families, loss of employment and incarceration.
Town Hall Meeting facilitated by Peter Neronha, United States Attorney, to raise awareness about the issue of opioid addiction. The powerful documentary film "Chasing the Dragon: The life of an opioid addict" will be shown. After viewing the film we will hear a personal story from a mother who lost her son to addiction. There will be a local panel of experts to comment and lead a thought provoking discussion.
