Coalitions can be a powerful force for change in the health of a community. Yet, so often we hear things like, “It’s just another meeting” or “I can’t justify sending staff to another meeting for meeting’s sake.”
When coalitions are effective, those meetings move a comprehensive plan forward from collaborative data collection, to analysis, capacity building, planning, implementation and evaluation. And, in doing so, coalitions actively engage a diverse cross section of community sectors.
