Jan 01, 1970 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
Motivational Interviewing (MI) supports client determination while being an effective evidence based method. It is a therapeutic process that has been shown to work very effectively with resistant, “challenging” clients. The spirit of MI is based on respect, understanding the client’s need for autonomy and compassion. The important aspects of MI are to look at the social worker’s influence on the client’s behavior. This two-day program offers behavioral healthcare professionals an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of MI and to begin to incorporate them into their work.
