This training provides a foundational overview as well as a unique insight into today’s correctional system and culture. Designed for mental health and chemical dependency professionals, topics include: a historical perspective of the national and state correctional systems, clinical analysis of the offender population, “suicide risk” and the psychological impact of incarceration, current rehabilitative strategies and lastly, treatment implications for future providers.
