Opening Lines and Other Conversation Tips for Talking about Tobacco

It is often the case that the hardest thing about conducting a helping tobacco conversation is how to begin. Though it has become increasingly recognized that brief interactions by healthcare providers with their clients/patients is effective in increasing quit attempts – and success with quit attempts – there is also a perceived social risk with opening the conversation that can dissuade well-meaning professionals from broaching the topic. In this webinar, we will discuss practical, down-to-earth tips for opening lines and how to keep the conversation going in an effective, efficient and friendly manner.
