Opioid Addiction Pharmacology

A focus on Addiction Pharmacology for the care of clients with Opioid dependency. This includes medically supervised detoxification, as well as an understanding of the medical use for suboxone, methadone, naloxone, and vivitrol. This training will orient participants to the evidence and efficacy for use of such medications.
This training will also address the current epidemic in RI around Opioid overdose, prevention and naloxone to reverse overdose.
Also provide participant opportunity to explore attitudes, values and beliefs associated with the use of medication in the treatment of addictive disorders.

Audience: Those who need to meet the education requirement for Medication Assisted Treatment for Chemical Dependencey Professional Certificatio; current LCDP’s who need classes for renewal, and Clinical staff who wish to learn more about Addiction and Pharmacology.
