Role of Primary Care for Individuals in Recovery
Jan 01, 1970 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM
This workshop will explore the healthcare system’s resistance and current efforts in identifying and treating substance abuse. The workshop will also address how to assist the client in finding the right primary care team to aid in his/her recovery. The Affordable Care Act (ACA), Accountable Care Organizations (ACO), and Patient Centered Medical Homes (PCMH) will all be addressed in the larger changing climate of primary care. To summarize, the healthcare environment is actually favorable for vulnerable populations. With the assistance of case managers, therapists, and other professionals involved with recovery, the client can establish a relationship with a primary care time and speak openly regarding how the physician and his team can assist in the client’s recovery.
