Presenter: Denise Panichas, M.Ed. Executive Director of The Samaritans of RI
Professional development training will include a review of the work of The Samaritans of RI in support of Rhode Islanders in need; the role of trusted adults including school and agency staff; review of our suicide emergency checklist; risk factors and protective factors; the role of medical professionals; the importance of coordinated medical and behavioral health care; Samaritans befriending/listening techniques, review of resources by RI city and town and more.
We will also review how to use our "Youth Perspective" website pages which include lesson plans as well as resources for teens and their parents.
This training is offered at no cost.
