Advancing Applied Prevention Skills and Engagement Through Innovative Formats and Approaches: New England PTTC Research and Design Fellowship Symposium

Join us for the Research and Design (RAD) Fellowship Symposium, featuring three new products around the topic: Advancing Applied Prevention Skills and Engagement Through Innovative Formats and Approaches. This offering is part of the 2026 Advanced August offerings. While anyone can attend Advanced August offerings, they are designed for professionals who have been in the field 5+ years.
Three new resources will be launched at this symposium and participants will have the first acsess to them, as well as an opportunity to learn about the resources and ask questions of the developers.
About the three products featured this year:
For prevention leaders working with Faith Communities: A training guide and the slide decks for a four-part training series that can be implemented as a Training of Trainers for prevention leaders or directly with faith leaders after some adaptation. This product was created with the goal of helping prevention leaders to build the capacity of local prevention specialists, outreach workers, coalition members, and other frontline staff and volunteers to engage and prepare faith leaders and faith communities to be part of local community-led initiatives.
For prevention practitioners looking to strengthen the human side of their work: A scalable menu of trauma-integrated workforce supports designed to build trust, belonging, and relational capacity within substance use prevention teams and organizations. Choose from five practical options — peer support pods, reflective supervision, prevention practice labs, micro-learning, and restorative repair circles — that help prevention professionals stay grounded, connected to each other, and rooted in their values, even in high-stress or low-trust work environments, so they can show up more fully and sustainably for the communities they serve.
For preventionists looking to lead high impact, connection forward programming: A guide on how to utilize connection as a prevention strategy and more than a program outcome. Explore real world examples of how every opportunity to increase belonging, strengthen relationships, foster trust, and encourage participation helps create a community where people are supported, valued, and less vulnerable to substance misuse.
