An event every month that begins at 6:00pm on day Fourth of the month, repeating until November 27, 2018
One event on December 18, 2018 at 6:00pm
The Non-Toxic Masculinity program is a four-part workshop series for men that focuses on unpacking the toxic expectations that come with “being a man” in today’s society by building empathy, vulnerability, and relationship skills. The program was developed in 2017 at the request of a local activist organization in the wake of accusations of pervasive sexual violence and misogyny within the group. This unique and timely program provides a space for men to address one of the driving forces behind sexual violence and cultural misogyny: masculine gender norms.
This session will run from August through November, with one workshop per month. A list of the workshops and dates is included below. Each workshop is ninety minutes and consists of activities, discussion, roleplay and lecture. The sequence of workshops is designed to bring men through the process of building a “non-toxic masculinity,” starting with their own emotions and building outwards into their relational skills, their sexual experiences, and their community presence.
