In this webinar, we will present a model for oppression theory to understand the manifestations of oppression that get played out on multiple levels. Building on this theory, we will address intersectionality or the ways that oppressions are compounded and interconnected in people’s experience, including their mental health. We will also explore a model for BIPOC racial identity development and how the process of identity development shapes the ways that BIPOC interact with, counter, and survive dominant systems, institutions, and communities. Finally, we will examine how these concepts are connected to suicide prevention and mental health.
