SUMHLC Training: Pregnancy and Addiction

This three hour workshop provides participants with a comprehensive overview on pregnant women and addiction. The session emphasizes early intervention, and how crucial it is in the outcome for mother and child, as well as the specific and more unique treatments available for these individuals. Maternal Opioid Disorder, NAS (neo-natal abstinence syndrome), and the use of medication assisted treatment 5 will be discussed, as well as socio-economic status, interpersonal violence, and social norms regarding parenting women.
Continuing Education Credits:
Social Work CEUs: This training is pending approval for 3.0 continuing education units by the National Association of Social Workers.
Chemical Dependency Professionals CEUs: This trainings has been approved by the RI Certification Board for 3.0 continuing education units. The RICB is an IC & RC affiliate.
Mental Health Counselors CEUs: This training is pending approval by the RI Mental Health Counselors Association for 3.0 continuing education credits.
