Reducing the Risks of Opioids

This module will cover the CDC-recommendations for reducing the risks of opioids. You will have the opportunity to learn more about strategies to mitigate risk to your patients taking opioids. You will also have the opportunity to review recommended next steps based on the results of urine drug testing (UDT), prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) data, physical examinations, and medical history. This activity will also provide opportunities to apply your knowledge to patient cases. Please refer to the CDC Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain for additional information as needed during this training.
