This course explores the unique challenges and experiences of women in substance use recovery. It examines biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors affecting recovery, and emphasizes trauma-informed care, resilience, and empowerment. From this lecture, attendees will develop a comprehensive understanding of best practices in supporting women on their recovery journey.
At the end of this webinar participants should be able to:
- Analyze gender- specific factors influencing substance use and recovery.
- Understand the role of trauma, mental health, and social determinants in women’s recovery.
- Evaluate evidence-based treatment approaches tailored for women.
- Explore the impact of motherhood, relationships, and societal expectations in recovery.
- Develop strategies to support and empower women in various stages of recovery.
