Breaking News: House Appropriations Committee Approves Fiscal Year 2026 Financial Services and General Government
Appropriations Bill

This week, the House Appropriations Committee approved the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) appropriations bill. The bill provides funding for programs in the Office of National Drug Control Policy. This includes:
• The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Program: $109 million
• The Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) Section 103 Enhancement Grant Program: $5.2 million
• The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Program: $299.6 million
The funding provided for the DFC and CARA programs is level with the final FY 2025 appropriated amount and the funding provided for the HIDTA program is approximately $1 million above the FY 2025 appropriated amount.

The House FSGG appropriations bill represents an important step in the process, but it is far from over. The Senate must still release their version of the bill, differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill must be resolved and the President must sign the bills into law.

CADCA will keep the field informed as the FY 2026 appropriations process continues.
