This webinar, hosted by the New England PTTC, will discuss the impact of punitive measures in response to school-based substance use infractions. iDECIDE is an alternative program that aims to reduce absenteeism, substance-related infractions, and general school infractions.

Training Objectives:

• Examine why punitive responses to school-based substance use infractions are an ineffective strategy to address student substance use and often exacerbate harm, particularly among students with marginalized identities
• Describe the iDECIDE program’s restorative approach to offering schools an appropriate alternative to punishment to address student substance use infractions.
• Understand what partnering with MGH for the iDECIDE program involves, including key program features, requirements, and what schools or school adjacent partners can expect from the collaboration.
