This training will focus on providing affirmative care for transgender and gender non-conforming people. Emphasis will be placed on affirming LGBTQ people through effective communication, learning to address implicit bias towards LGBTQ patients and best practices for a transgender-affirming environment. Through the use of discussions and case scenarios, information on maintaining a respectful workplace culture, identifying and addressing implicit bias related to our LGBTQ patients, and identifying organizational strategies for creating a trans-affirming environment will be addressed.
