Boundary Issues and Dual Relationships in Substance Abuse Treatment

November 30, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$60

In recent years, substance abuse treatment professionals have become increasingly aware of ethical issues related to boundaries and dual relationships. Dual relationships occur when professionals enter into more than one relationship with clients and former clients, whether professional, social or business. This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive overview of key boundary and dual relationship issues such as intimate relationships, friendships, social contact, business transactions and self-disclosure. Case examples will be used to illustrate the wide range of issues that arise in practice, including novel challenges posed by digital technology. The workshop will also present practical strategies and conceptual tools to ensure ethical practice.  Six (6) continuing education hours (CEUs) in Ethics are provided.

Price – $60
CEUs – 6
