Difficult to Engage Clients: Overcoming Resistance with Motivation Interviewing

Training provides an overview of client engagement styles as well as resistance to change. The ‘Stages of Changes’ are explored and defined with behavioral examples. Use of the Evidence Based Practice of Motivational Interviewing is outlined as an approach to change management. The attendees will have an opportunity to practice ‘Change Talk’ with several scenarios. Discussion of application to community based care and outpatient settings will be conducted in the wrap- up. 2 CEUs are available.
