September 25, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

This series, organized by PTTC, explores substance use prevention through the lens of the Social-Ecological Model (SEM), a powerful framework that recognizes how individual, interpersonal, community, and societal factors all interconnect to influence health outcomes. In this first training, participants will dive into what protection means on the individual level, moving beyond abstract theory to practical tools and evidence-based practices to serve as a guiding force.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define and unpack risk and protective factors in the context of prevention
  • Examine what “protection” looks like at the individual level
  • Identify how to select evidence-based practices, programs, and policies to bolster identified protective factors in the individual domain
