This virtual training discusses gambling-related cases of death by suicide from information in the National Violent Death Reporting System, which currently collects data on all officially recorded violent deaths. The presenters will discuss characteristics that were common among gambling-related cases including those related to demographics, alcohol use, financial problems, and relationship difficulties. Reflections on how to better capture the impacts of gambling on death by suicide, as well as implications for clinicians, will also be discussed.
