Linda Hurley has worked in substance use disorder treatment and behavioral healthcare for more than 35 years. She has been with CODAC Behavioral Healthcare since 1991 and, in 2016 was named CODAC’s President/CEO. Under Ms. Hurley’s leadership, CODAC was the first Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) in the nation to receive Health Home certification and the first OTP in Rhode Island to be designated as a Center of Excellence. Ms. Hurley has been a leader in working to effect policy change in RI, serving on numerous boards and coalitions. Welcome Linda!
Medication-Assisted Treatment
This workshop will provide participants with a thorough review of the history of medication-assisted treatment. Participants will be able to examine the neurobiology of opioid dependence, current trends and affected demographics. The training will also provide a discussion on current trends regarding illicit substances and emerging adulterants at the street level.
Objectives:
At the end of this webinar participants should be able to:
- Understand the neurobiology of opioid dependence.
- Analyze the history, development, and current status of medicines for opioid use disorder.
- Identify the needed changes in the culture of care regarding an integrated approach.
