Opioid abuse and addiction remains a critical national public health concern. This training will focus on addiction pharmacology for the care of clients with Opioid de-pendency. This includes medically supervised detoxification, as well as an under-standing of the medical use of Suboxone, Methadone, Naloxone, and Vivitrol. This training will offer participants a suite of tools that will address the science of addiction, treatment for young adults, short term opioid withdrawal using Buprenorphine, as well as a discussion on other treatment strategies for prescription opioid dependence.
