This session is an inaugural peer-sharing call to provide an opportunity for prevention organizations and coalitions across the New England states, to come together to share some of their successes and challenges implementing marijuana prevention amidst rapidly evolving and changing laws and policies.  While state laws and policies around marijuana vary from state to state, there are many common challenges facing all of our communities as we craft prevention strategies to address some of the risk factors and public health risks posed by emerging commercial marijuana operations.  By sharing with each other what’s working, we can strengthen the prevention approach across the region.

Additionally, in this first marijuana prevention peer-sharing call, we will also discuss particular challenges in implementing marijuana prevention strategies posed by COVID-19 and social distancing.

Objectives for the peer-sharing call:

• Opportunity for prevention organizations to share their marijuana prevention strategies
• Discuss additional challenges or barriers posed by COVID-19 and social distancing
• Identify topics for didactics for future peer-sharing calls
