This training will review the core concepts in implementing person centered planning. By the end of the session, participants will be able 1) to describe strategies to actively engage the person/client in the process and 2) to explain how to utilize someone’s strengths, skills and abilities in the development of the treatment plan and 3) identify primary differences between traditional treatment planning and person-centered planning. Participants will have an opportunity to develop a person centered plan and discuss the differences in this process vs. a more ‘traditional’ approach, implications for treatment, the therapeutic relationship, and outcomes will be discussed.
