Tobacco Prevention in the Lens of COVID-19: New Opportunities and Strategies

December 16, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

COVID-19 has drastically shifted the focus of public health priorities, but tobacco prevention and control remains a key focus area for many states. Recent trends demonstrate a strong link between tobacco use and heightened COVID-19 transmission risk. It is essential that public health professionals examine ways to integrate tobacco control efforts into the new landscape that COVID-19 has created.

Join ASTHO for a virtual session that will bring together expert panelists to discuss new opportunities and strategies for tobacco prevention in the era of COVID-19. This event, which will feature panelists speaking live on webcam, includes a tribal community member, physician, and tobacco expert bringing diverse public health perspectives. The discussion will be centered around questions submitted by participants during registration, and any resources mentioned during the conversation will be made available by download post-meeting
