The Rhode Island Council on Problem Gambling is leading a training on engaging college students in conversations about problem gambling. Participants will learn about warning signs, impact on student well-being, early intervention strategies, and referral pathways.

Learning Objectives:

• Describe current trends in gambling among college students.
• Identify common risk factors and warning signs of gambling-related harms in college populations.
• Explain the relationship between gambling and co-occurring concerns such as mental health & substance use.
• Recognize opportunities for early intervention, prevention, and referral within campus and student facing roles.
• Apply at least one practical strategy for engaging college students in conversations about gambling in a non-stigmatizing and supportive way.
