April 2023 Drug Take Back Day

Drug Take Back Day is a campaign that encourages the safe disposal of unnecessary medications in an effort to prevent medication misuse. Thanks to our local substance use prevention community, Rhode Island’s April 2023 Drug Take Back Day was a success!

Across Rhode Island, 179 boxes of unused or expired medications were collected, totaling more than 4,178 lbs. This is over 550 lbs. more than was collected at the last Take Back Day in October 2022!

THANK YOU! This success would not have been possible without the support of local prevention providers and many community partners, including 37 total police departments. View the infographic here.
