After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand key aspects of brain development in adolescence
- Describe different forms of marijuana that adolescents may use
- Describe the adverse effects of marijuana use on adolescent health, development, and behavior
- Discuss current data regarding adolescent marijuana use in RI
- Identify community-based strategies being used in RI to prevent adolescent marijuana use
Please note: Both terms, ‘marijuana’ and ‘cannabis’ are used in this course to refer to the substance. ‘Marijuana’ is the plain language term applied most often in the course, and ‘cannabis’ is the term used in relation to law and policy.
