Addressing the opioid crisis in the U.S.

John Snow, Inc/JSI Research and Training Institute, Inc., June 2016
Since 1992, JSI has assisted public health agencies and communities in the United States to develop initiatives across the continuum of substance use prevention, early identification, treatment, and recovery support services relative to substance misuse and disorders, including addiction.

The current opioid crisis calls for a comprehensive, multisectoral response. To address this, we have built on our longstanding work of providing technical expertise and bringing policy change and best practices to those serving people affected by substance misuse. We have worked with states, cities, and counties to develop policies, implement interventions, design communications campaigns, create best practice protocols, and evaluate interventions.
