This Prevention Status Reports highlight the status of Rhode Island policies and practices surrounding alcohol use and access, including: alcohol excise taxes, commercial host (dram shop) liability, and regulation of alcohol outlet density. These policies and practices are recommended by the Community Preventive Services Task Force because scientific studies support their effectiveness in reducing excessive alcohol consumption and related harms.
